Love is a complex blend of emotions that can bring immense joy and fulfillment, but it can also have a suffocating side. At its core, love often involves feelings of deep attachment, passion, and a sense of belonging with another person. However, when these feelings become overwhelming, they can manifest in ways that feel asphyxiating.

In a relationship, intense love can sometimes lead to dependency, where individuals feel they cannot live without their partner. This dependency can create a sense of suffocation, as one's happiness and well-being become overly reliant on the presence and validation of their partner.
Moreover, love can evoke feelings of possessiveness and jealousy, causing individuals to feel trapped or controlled within the confines of the relationship. The fear of losing the person they love can lead to clinginess or a need for constant reassurance, which can be stifling for both parties involved.Â
In my photography shoot, I wanted to show the intense feelings of love, especially how they can sometimes feel like they're suffocating us, especially for young couples. These days, it's common for couples to be super dependent on each other, which can be a bit overwhelming.
To capture this, I wrapped a couple in plastic wraps, representing the feeling of being trapped by their connection. It's like they're suffocating in their love but still holding onto each other tight.

Despite the heavy symbolism, you can still see the love between them in their embrace. It's a reminder that even when love feels overwhelming, it's still love.

Overall, while love is a beautiful and profound experience, it's important to recognize that it can also be overwhelming at times. Finding a balance between closeness and independence, communication, and setting healthy boundaries are essential in navigating the complexities of love while avoiding feelings of suffocation.
