Eivissa 2026
At the edge of the island, a solitary chair faces the sea. It appears to be waiting—for a person, a memory, or perhaps simply for time to pass.
The series follows this chair through the landscape as a silent witness to arrivals and departures. Around it, the island continues to move: the sea shifts, distant figures appear and disappear, and traces of human presence interrupt the stillness. Yet the chair remains empty.
Photographed in black and white, The Empty Seat looks beyond the familiar image of Ibiza as a place of colour, freedom and celebration. Instead, it reveals a quieter island—one shaped by solitude, anticipation and the strange feeling of belonging somewhere that is always changing.
The work is a reflection on absence: the spaces people leave behind, the memories held by familiar places, and the possibility that someone may still return.
